During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Friday, July 24, Maegan discussed with host Boy Abunda the reasons she associated with her drug use and how she eventually realized that her struggles were not the true cause of her addiction.
Boy asked Maegan if using the substance was a way of escaping from problems or forgetting difficult experiences. She explained that there was no real reason behind it and admitted that she simply considered it a vice at the time.
“Actually there's really no reason for it, it's just a vice. I'm allergic to alcohol, I'm allergic to nicotine, and I wanted to have a vice,” Maegan said.

The singer also acknowledged Boy’s question about whether the problems she experienced in life became the trigger for her drug use. Maegan admitted that she used those struggles as a way to justify her actions.
“I justified the use of it with the problems that I had,” she shared.
Boy then pointed out that the problems themselves did not solve anything and that they only became a justification for continuing the habit. Maegan agreed, describing drug use as a vice and a bad habit that eventually led her to create excuses for it.
“A vice and a bad habit, and then you just make excuses for it,” she said.
Maegan further shared that she only fully understood the nature of addiction after undergoing rehabilitation. She revealed that she learned addiction is a chronic disease that can involve relapses, something she was not aware of during the years she was using it.
“In rehab, we were taught that addiction is relapsing chronicle disease. I didn't know that for the longest time,” Maegan explained. “I only knew about addiction when I went to rehab [for the second time].”
Through her conversation with Boy, Maegan reflected on how her perspective on addiction changed after seeking professional help and undergoing rehabilitation. She emphasized that what she once viewed as a response to her problems was actually a struggle with addiction that required deeper understanding and treatment.
