Samsung Electronics co-CEO Han Jong-Hee had died of a heart attack on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was 63 years old.

In a report by Reuters, a company spokesperson said Han passed away at a hospital while being treated for cardiac arrest.
Han became the chief executive officer of the company in 2022. He was also in charge of its consumer electronics and mobile devices division.

Following his untimely demise, his co-CEO Jun Young-hyun would be the sole CEO of the company. Jun was appointed as Samsung's co-CEO just last week at its annual shareholders meeting.
According to an internal message seen by CNN, the tech giant paid tribute to Han, saying he had dedicated more than 37 years of his life to leading Samsung’s TV business to become a global leader. As the head of its electronics and appliances businesses, Han likewise contributed to the company’s growth amid a “challenging business environment.”
“Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the message said.
