Paboritong Ma Ling ng mga Pinoy, banned muna sa bansa dahil sa isang virus

-Pinaniniwalaang apektado ng African swine fever virus ang Ma Ling na galing sa ilang bansa tulad ng Vietnam at South Africa

Isa ang Ma Ling sa mga pansamantalang banned sa bansa dahil sa African swine fever virus na nakakaapekto na sa ilang bansa ayon sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Kamakailan ay nagkaroon ng temporary ban sa pag-import at pagbebenta ng mga processed pork meat sa bansa.

Ipinagbawal muna ang pagbebenta ng mga processed pork meat products mula sa mga bansang Vietnam, Zambia, South Africa, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Mongolia, Moldova, and Belgium.

Ayon kay Eric Domingo, Officer-in-charge ng FDA, ito ay upang masiguro na ligtas ang Pilipinas mula sa nasabing virus.

“I signed that order. It is a step taken to ensure the food security of our country and make that our livestock is not affected by the African swine fever,” anito ayon sa ulat ng Inquirer.

At kasali na nga rito ang Ma Ling ayon mismo kay Domingo.

“Yes [Ma Ling is covered by the ban]. The FDA regulatory board will go around and inspect. We also ask the public to report any sightings [of these banned products] to the FDA,”

Ayon sa FDA ang swine fever ay isang “highly contagious” hemorrhagic disease na mula sa mga baboy,warthogs, European wild boar at American wild pigs.
