Chokoleit died after having a hard time breathing after his performance in an out of town show in Abra. The comedian was one of the performers in Kawayan Festival on March 9, 2019.

His talent agency confirmed the news, "Details are still being gathered. Chokoleit was performing in an out of town show in Abra, and experienced difficulty in breathing after his performance."

Meanwhile, celebrities and netizens expressed their sorrow over Chokoleit's passing. Among the performers on the said event was the Juans. Carl Guevarra said Chokoleit performed right after their set. He also shared witnessing how the comedian struggled throughout his performance.

An ambulance rushed him to a hospital in Abra but was not able to make it.
