"Our biggest flex? Being together through the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. It’s hard to believe it’s already been 23 years since we first got together. I’ll never forget that date, April 2003 when I met you in Boracay. 💗"
Looking back on their life together, Doug expressed deep gratitude for Cheska's role in every chapter of his journey:
"From being my number one cheerleader during my college playing days, to becoming my ex-girlfriend turned incredible wife, and the most loving mother to Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin. I’ve had so many blessings in my 43 years, but choosing to pursue you and making you mine forever will always be the best decision of my life."
He also credited their enduring partnership to mutual respect, open communication, and faith:
"October 9, 2008, we said our I Dos. 18 years of an amazing, happy marriage. Wow, that is purely God’s grace. To think that through every season, we’ve held onto our promise to never let an issue grow bigger than what we can resolve before the night ends."
The special gift of the day was a custom ring presented in a velvet box. Doug walked followers through its intricate and symbolic details:
"The ring design shares our 2 hearts, intertwined forever. 18 diamonds to signify our years together and our 3 beautiful children with their birth stones. 💗"
Doug concluded his letter with a sweet promise to continue growing old hand-in-hand:
"I wouldn’t be the man, the father, or the husband I am today without the trusting, loving, and respectful wife you are. We’ve walked through so many seasons together—legit tumatanda na tayo! 🧓 But there’s no one else in this world I’d rather grow old and share forever with than you. Happy Anniversary to the love of my life. I love you endlessly, my Francesca! 💖😍"
