- Another report said that she was one of the honor graduates UP

According to the curriculum vitae of Senate candidate and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, she graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law. However, KAMI learned that this claim is false.

Marcos was referred to as “one of the honor graduates of the University of the Philippines” in an article published by Manila Bulletin on May 1, 1983.
However, according to the report by Rappler, UP Executive Vice President Teodoro Herbosa said through e-mail that Marcos did not graduate from UP nor acquired Latin honors as per UP Registrar’s office.
“The records kept by the University of the Philippines Diliman Registrar indicate that Ms Marcos took non-degree courses (courses without credit) in the College of Arts and Sciences University of the Philippines Diliman during academic year 1976-77,” it stated in the e-mail.
“Thereafter she took courses under the Bachelor of Laws program at the UP College of Law from 1st semester 1979 to 2nd Semester 1983. There is no record of her graduation from UP [Diliman] nor any honors or academic distinctions received with the University Registrar's office,” it added.
In a previous report by KAMI, Marcos claimed that she graduated from an Ivy League school—Princeton University. She said that she had a degree in religion in politics. However, a spokesperson from Princeton University said that Marcos was not awarded a degree.
Maria Imelda Josefa Romualdez Marcos is the daughter of late President Ferdinand Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos. She served as the Representative of the 2nd District of Ilocos Norte for three terms. Marcos has filed her candidacy to run as a senator in the upcoming mid-term polls.
