Noli de Castro has bid farewell to ABS-CBN as he is set to run for senator in the 2022 elections.

ABS-CBN then took to its social media pages to air its statement on the veteran broadcaster’s aim for a political comeback.

According to the statement released on Thursday, October 7, the network respects de Castro’s decision and “wish him well as he aims to continue his service to the nation as a government official.”

“In adherence to our company policy, Kabayan will move on from his anchor duties in ‘TV Patrol,’ ‘Kabayan,’ and ‘TeleRadyo Balita’ once he formally files his certificate of candidacy.”

The Kapamilya network also thanked ‘Kabayan’ “for his decades of service in ABS-CBN News, where he led iconic shows and spearheaded public service efforts while also serving as a mentor to generations of broadcast journalists in the organization.”

Noli "Kabayan" de Castro is one of the most seasoned broadcasters in the Philippines. He also served as the Vice President of the country during the term of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

He bid farewell to ABS-CBN as he is about to once more join the senatorial race for 2022 elections. On Thursday, Oct. 7, the veteran news anchor revealed that it would be his last day on Teleradyo, for the program "Kabayan". De Castro will be joining the party of Isko Moreno, where he would also be running for senator.

Previously, Korina Sanchez recollected the time when she was still one of the anchors of TV Patrol. She took to Instagram to share a throwback of her with her co-anchors Noli de Castro and Ted Failon in the studio of the said news program. De Castro then commented on her post where he admitted to missing the three of them working together.
