Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan recently recommended declaring Ez Mil as “persona non grata” over lyrics of his trending song, “Panalo”.

The said song went viral after he performed it on Wish USA’s YouTube channel.

However, the US-based Filipino rapper drew flak for twisting the historical facts on Filipino hero Lapu-Lapu in his song's lyrics.

There’s a line in the song that goes “pinugutan si Lapu sa Mactan”, which runs contrary to the actual Philippine history.

Based on The Freeman, the “angry” mayor asked the city council to declare EZ Mil not welcome to the city for “making up stories”.

"I’m angry, I’m outraged. He's making up stories. What is he doing, he doesn’t care if it’s wrong as long as it makes him famous?" Mayor Chan said in Cebuano on Monday, February 8.

"He’s making a big mockery of our hero who should be respected, not ridiculed," he added.

According to ABS-CBN News report, Ez Mil explained he put “an exaggerated term in a ploy to drive traffic and talk.”

"It's inaccurate but he still died," the rapper told.

Ezekiel Miller or Ez Mil was born in Olongapo City on July 27, 1998. His song “Panalo” went viral on YouTube after he performed it on Wish USA.

EZ Mil issued an apology to those who were offended with the line of his now viral rap song "Panalo (Trap Carinosa)". He said though that the controversial twist was a ploy to drive traffic, as well as talk, about his video. He also addressed how he was tagged as a DDS just because of the line in his song that says, "Wag nang pag-usapan ang negatibo".

Persona non grata, in the context of Philippine local governance refers to individuals or groups declared as unwelcomed in a particular locality.
