The Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association (PMAAAI) has declared broadcaster Erwin Tulfo a persona-non-grata.

KAMI learned that this came after Erwin lambasted Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista on his radio show. The broadcaster has also issued an apology for his behavior.

On the other hand, Bautista laid down several conditions in order for him to accept the apology of Erwin.

Bautista is a retired general of the Army and a member of the PMAAAI.

On June 7, the said association passed a resolution declaring the journo as a persona non grata.

According to the PMAAAI, it took offense at the "boorish behavior and derogatory remarks" made by Erwin Tulfo.

They will not be appreciating the presence of Erwin in all events sponsored or participated by them and that they would also be depriving the journo of the "privileges and courtesies" that are granted to media practitioners.

Here is the full text of the declaration of PMAAAI as reported by Inquirer's Alexanter Magno.

"The PMAAI takes offense and strongly condemns the boorish behavior and derogatory remarks of Mr. Tulfo that spilled over the ranks of the active and retired officers, men and women of the MUP (military uniformed personnel) thereby assailing the very core of service to country and people of which the PMAAAI squarely stands for."

“Tulfo’s presence or participation, physical or by proxy, shall not be appreciated in all activities, programs or undertakings either sponsored or participated in by the PMAAAI or any of its chapter members and affiliate organizations held inside or outside their respective areas of jurisdiction...[deprivation of] privileges and courtesies granted to responsible media practitioners.”

A previous KAMI report detailed what transpired between Erwin and retired Gen. Bautista.

Erwin Tulfo is a broadcaster in the Philippines. He is one of the Tulfo brothers who made a name for themselves in the field of media and communications.
