Sen. JV Ejercito says parents may bring car seats whenever they ride a taxi

- Sen. JV Ejercito is the author of the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act (Republic Act 11229)

- The senator stated that parents may be able to bring a car seat whenever they would ride a taxi

- This was pursuant to the new law, which required private vehicles to provide car seats for children 12 years and under

- The only exemption is when a child is already 4'11"

Sen. JV Ejercito, the author of the new law requiring private vehicles to use car seats for children 12 years old and below said in an interview on Teleradyo that parents may bring a car seat whenever they would ride a taxi.

The car seat will protect the child in the event of a collision.

He also addressed the statement of Atty. Guinto about getting a bigger car if the child is big and could not fit in the car seat.

Children's car seats range from P2,000 to P25,000. Rappler reported that the DOTR stated that they would not be implementing fines amid the pandemic due to having no car seat.
