The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed on Thursday that Health Secretary Francisco Duque III is now on “home quarantine.”
KAMI learned that the health secretary also underwent a test for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a report by GMA News, the results of the test are expected to be released within 2-3 days. Duque reportedly does not show COVID-19 symptoms.
“Yes Sec. Duque is on home quarantine," Department of Health spokesperson Ma. Rosario Vergeire said.
The health secretary is now setting up work arrangements at his home as he continues working amid the COVID-19 threat.
As reported by CNN Philippines, Vergeire noted that Duque has asthma and hypertension.
"He has already been tested for COVID-19 as he is Asthmatic and Hypertensive. He is now doing work from home," she said.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the DOH reported additional 15 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the country, making a total of 202 cases, as of Wednesday.
In a previous report by KAMI, the health department also announced that 7 patients have recovered from COVID-19.
The coronavirus disease continues to spread globally. There are about 211,000 confirmed cases all over the world and over 8,700 recorded deaths.
