Authorities told E! Online that Kadance’s sedan collided head-on with a tractor-trailer at around 1:30 p.m. in Santa Rosa County, Fla., on Feb. 17 after merging into the eastbound lane from the westbound lane on Florida State Road 4 for "unknown reasons."
The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the late beauty queen’s 48-year-old mom, Lisa Fredericksen, said her daughter was “literally three minutes from home” when the accident happened.
“She had the whole world right there in her hands, and she was ready to take it on,” Lisa also told PEOPLE.
Kadance won Miss Okaloosa County Teen USA and was a delegate in Miss Florida Teen USA in 2024. She was a high school student at Baker High School. The late beauty queen had been accepted into nine universities and had hopes of becoming a veterinarian, said her family.
