Celebs react to US President Biden dropping his reelection bid, endorsing Vice Pres. Harris

Biden took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a letter announcing his decision.

"It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term."

In another post, Biden lauded Harris and urged Democrats to support her in the 2024 election.

"My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it's been the best decision I've made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this."

Following the announcement, American celebrities, including Hollywood stars, reacted to the the historic news in no time.

Barrack Obama: "Joe Biden has been one of America's most consequential presidents, as well as a dear friend and partner to me. Today, we've also been reminded – again – that he's a patriot of the highest order."

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., better known as Joe Biden, is the 46th president of the United States. He earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968 and was admitted to the Delaware bar the following year. In 1970, he ran for the 4th District Seat on the New Castle County Council and won the elections. He represented Delaware in the United States Senate from 1973 to 2009 and from 2009 to 2017, he served as 47th vice president under Barack Obama. In 2020, he ran for president against then U.S. President Donald Trump and won in a hugely contentious election.

In 2021, Joe Biden finally took his oath as the 46th President of the United States on the 20th of January of that year. At the time, Biden has declared that democracy won in America on that day because of his successful inauguration. Biden immediately buckled down to work and signed around 15 executive actions. He also declared null and void some of the policies put in place by Trump when he was still president.

Donald Trump was rushed offstage after shots were heard during a rally in Pennsylvania. Secret Service immediately rushed to his side to surround him, and when he got up, blood was seen on his ear and face. Later in the evening, Trump took to his Truth Social account and let everyone know that he was safe and there thanked the quick response of the Secret Service.
