Senator Robin Padilla has reacted to the criticisms that his wife, actress Mariel Padilla, has received. The controversy happened after Mariel underwent an intravenous (IV) gluta drip session at the Senate office of her husband, as reported by The Philippine Star.

In the now-deleted Instagram post, Mariel said: “Drip anywhere is our motto! Hehehe I had an appointment with @dripinluxeph but I was going to be late so I had it done in my husband’s office. Hehe I never miss a drip because it really helps in so many ways. A collagen production, whitening, energy, metabolism, immunity and 50000 much more! So convenient and really effective, magaling talaga.”

In a report by Inquirer, Robin shared that he finds the controversy to be laughable. However, he said sorry to those who found Mariel’s post to be offensive, explaining that she did not mean to disrespect and that she was merely promoting health and beauty.

“Nakakatawa naman po ang political issue na yan.

“Nakakatawa naman po ang isyu na ‘yan. My goodness. Kung may nakita po silang masama sa larawan na ‘yan paumanhin po.

“No intention of disrespect.

“My wife loves to promote good looks and good health,” Robin said.

Mariel Padilla is a famous actress and host in the Philippines. The actress became even more successful after launching her own YouTube vlog. She is married to action star Robin Padilla, with whom she has two children – Isabella and Gabriela.
