Senator Bong Go has just announced that he is withdrawing from the presidential race for the 2022 national elections.
The senator, during an ambush interview, revealed two things that contributed to his decision to withdraw from the race.
He said that he does not want the President to be put in the middle, and that his family allegedly does not want him to run as well.
"Ayaw rin talaga ng aking pamilya kaya naisip ko na siguro ay hindi ko pa panahon sa ngayon. Diyos lang ang nakakaalam kung kailan ang tamang panahon," said Go in Inquirer's report.

"Ayaw ko ring maipit si Pangulong Duterte higit pa sa tatay ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya," he said as reported in ABS-CBN.
He also explained that during the past few days, his heart and mind are contradicting his actions.
"In the past few days, I realized that my heart and my mind are contradicting my actions. Talagang nagre-resist ang aking katawan, puso, at isipan. Tao lang po ako na nasasaktan at napapagod din," said the senator, as in the interview with PTV4.
Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Tesoro Go is a politician in the Philippines. He served as a Senator since 2019.
Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos admitted that he and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte sat down and talked about politics. He cited a particular meeting that happened just before Mayor Sara’s birthday, when BBM and his group went there to talk to her. Senator Bongbong, however, said that they did not discuss anything specific as regards politics. BBM also said it’s also possible for Sen. Bong Go to become his running mate, depending on the outcome of his party’s consultations.
Robin Padilla posted about the political rivalry between the team of Senators Richard Gordon and Panfilo Lacson and the team of President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go. The actor is not siding with any team amid the Senate hearing on the government’s pandemic purchases because learning about the truth is for the benefit of the entire nation. Investigations like this are common whenever there is an upcoming national election, Padilla said. Furthermore, Padilla said that he is a friend of Gordon, Duterte and Go, and that he has made a film based on the life of Lacson.
