“Are you able to tell us ano yung pinag-usapan niyo ni Mayor Sara? Were you trying to convince her to be your VP or was presidency always the plan for you?” a member of the media who was present during the event asked.

Senator Bongbong admitted that he and the Davao City mayor talked about it, though they did not discuss anything specific.

“Well, very early on we talked about it. Yung very much much publicized… Yung pinuntahan namin siya bago nung birthday niya. We talked about politics, but no specifics. And since then hindi na kami nag usap sa specifics yung mga ganyang klaseng usapan, like, ‘ikaw mag president, ako mag vice, o ikaw mag vice, ako mag president,’ hindi na umabot pa yung usapan namin doon,” BBM revealed.

On the question whether he would consider Sen. Bong Go as VP candidate and his running mate, Sen. Bongbong first pondered on the possible tandem name, which made the moment lighter.

“Bongbong Bong? Bong to the third power?” BBM joked.

He then said it might be possible, but also mentioned about the sudden change of plans as a result of last Saturday’s event where it was Sen. Go, and not PRRD, who filed his COC for vice president.

“Baka pwede rin, we'll see. Kaya nga nagulat, siguro pati kayo, lahat naman tayo nagulat, yung mga pangyayari nung Sabado. So we still have to determine what will be the effects of that, not only on me, but also the rest of the candidates in the different…. in our party, specifically,” Senator BBM said.

He served as Ilocos governor from 1998 to 2007 and then as congressman after stepping down as governor. In 2010, he ran and won as a senator and served as such until 2016. BBM then made an unsuccessful bid for the vice presidency in 2016, though protested the results of that election, alleging vote rigging and cheating.

When the interview of Toni Gonzaga with Bongbong became controversial, the old interview of actress and former presidential daughter Kris Aquino at RPN during the early 90s recently went viral. In the said interview, Bongbong and Kris talked like friends, and the interview went well. Kris and Bongbong even managed to laugh about some things that happened in the past.

Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero is among the prominent personalities who recently defended Toni Gonzaga. This, after Toni interviewed former Senator Bongbong Marcos on her online show “Toni Talks.” Chiz took to his Twitter page to defend the actress and television host. According to the governor, Toni has the “freedom and right to interview whomsoever she may want.”
