A man accused of trying to snátch a student’s cellphone was reportedly confronted and beaten by several barkers in Bacolod City.

According to a report by Unang Balita, the man allegedly tried to take the mobile phone of a student in the area.
Several barkers reportedly witnessed the incident. They quickly stepped in after allegedly catching the suspect in the act. The group then surrounded the man. Some of them reportedly hit and punched him over the alleged attempted theft.
The suspect was unable to leave immediately as the barkers continued confronting him. However, he eventually found an opportunity to run away from the area. Despite being surrounded by the group, the man successfully escaped. The news report did not state where he went or whether authorities later found him.

Some of the barkers claimed that they knew the suspect. According to them, the man had allegedly been involved in several other theft incidents in the area.
