Two senior high school students were traced and questioned by Pasig City police after allegedly threatening to attack two schools in Metro Manila.

According to a State of the Nation report, one student created a video that appeared to show firearms and ammunition. These were supposedly intended for a planned school attack.

A separate post linked to another student appeared to show him holding a loaded revolver. He also introduced himself as a member of an armed group and allegedly threatened to launch an attack to avenge a companion.

The Pasig City Police worked with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group to trace the students. Both were later found and interviewed by the authorities.

Pasig City Police Chief P/Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said the images circulated by the students were created using artificial intelligence. The posts were reportedly shared in different group chats, causing concern among students and parents.

During questioning, one of the students reportedly admitted that the threat was “gawa-gawa talaga lang.”

Authorities also learned that the other student was allegedly experiencing bullying at school. Mangaldan said the student acted that way “dahil nabu-bully siya allegedly sa school.”

A reported lack of attention from his parents and at home was also mentioned during the investigation. Police further noted the possible influence of recent school shooting incidents that the students had heard about.

Police also interviewed five schoolmates who allegedly helped spread the threatening posts. Authorities are still studying the possible liabilities of the two students and the others involved in sharing the content.

The students underwent debriefing with the police. Officials from the Department of Education and the Department of Social Welfare and Development also participated in the intervention.

Meanwhile, police assistance desks were placed near schools in Pasig City. Officers were assigned to work with school guards and help strengthen security around the campuses.

In another report, A school in Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City was robbed of more than P313,000 worth of equipment and cash after two men allegedly entered the compound past midnight on Saturday. According to James Agustin’s report on GMA’s Unang Balita on August 26, CCTV footage showed one man climbing over a railing inside the school. He was later seen inside the administrative office, where he appeared to search through the area. His alleged accomplice was also captured by a security camera.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead outside a school in Barangay Prinza, Teresa, Rizal, on Thursday afternoon, triggering a police manhunt and leaving his family grieving. According to a report by GMA News' "Unang Balita," the victim was shot in the head at around 4 p.m. The gunman reportedly escaped immediately after the attack.

Recently, a mother and her 13-year-old son were injured after they were allegedly attacked with a bolo while sleeping inside their home in Barangay Paril, Cebu City. According to a report on GMA's Unang Balita, the incident happened after the 22-year-old suspect reportedly caused trouble during a dance in the barangay.
