Police investigators revealed that the victim was lying down on the veranda of an abandoned house when the suspect suddenly arrived.

Carrying a bamboo pole, the suspect aggressively attacked the older man, repeatedly striking him. The sheer suddenness of the assault left the victim with absolutely no chance to defend himself or seek help.

Local authorities quickly stepped in to uncover the full motive behind this senseless tragedy. Police Major Glenn Dulay, the chief of the Laoac Police Station, provided crucial insight into the underlying tension between the two individuals.

He explained that the incident was the boiling point of a deeply rooted conflict.

"Ang tinitingnan po nating anggulo doon ay 'yung old grudge dahil nagmula na rin po ito sa pagkakautang ng suspek dito po sa victim natin," Glenn noted, emphasizing that the financial tension had been brewing for quite some time.

In fact, police added that the two men had engaged in multiple heated arguments in the days leading up to the fatal encounter.

When confronted by authorities, the suspect did not deny his involvement. He openly admitted to the crime, attributing his sudden outburst to overwhelming anger caused by the victim’s relentless collection efforts.

"Tapos nakaupo kaming dalawa sa flooring. Bumangon, kinukulit na naman ako. 'Yung utang ko daw. Dami kong utang daw," the suspect recounted in his shocking confession.

Interestingly, the suspect also claimed that the victim actually owed him money as well, an issue he allegedly chose to ignore.

However, regardless of the complicated financial history they shared, nothing can ever justify the taking of a human life.

The devastated family of the elderly victim is now bravely facing the incredibly painful reality of losing their loved one over a senseless argument.

They remain fiercely determined to file formal charges against the suspect, ensuring that justice is rightfully served.
