A Columban College student became the victim of a violent attack after he was allegedly punched several times and hit with a chair by a classmate inside the school's campus in Olongapo City.

According to a report by GMA News' "Unang Balita," the viral video showed a male student wearing a dark T-shirt repeatedly punching his fellow student. Several people tried to stop the assault as the victim attempted to move away.

Despite being restrained, the alleged attacker broke free and rushed toward the victim again. Moments later, he picked up a chair and struck the student with it while others continued trying to intervene.

The nearly one-minute video was posted on the Facebook page "Kami ang Batang Gapo." However, the footage did not show what triggered the altercation.

In an official statement, Columban College said it is treating the incident as an alleged bullying case and has already launched an investigation.

The school also said the victim was immediately secured and brought to the clinic for medical assistance. It added that the victim's parents were offered free psychological assistance and intervention to help the student recover from the incident.

Meanwhile, the school summoned the student accused of the assault along with his parents for a meeting regarding the incident.

Columban College also stressed that it maintains a strict anti-bullying policy and does not tolerate any form of violence, harassment, or intimidation within the campus.

As of reporting, GMA News said it is still seeking a statement from the Department of Education regarding the incident.

The video has since circulated widely online, with many people waiting for the outcome of the school's investigation and any response from the Department of Education.

The victim had reportedly dropped off his passenger in Kaunlar Village, Barangay 20, Caloocan, at around 1:30 a.m. Moments later, the passenger allegedly attacked the rider by repeatedly stabbing him in the side with an ice pick.
