The incident was reported on GMA's Unang Balita, where police shared details of the fatal attack and the arrest of the suspect.
According to investigators, the incident took place on Tuesday near a store at the corner of AFP and Guerilla Road. Police said the victim and the suspect allegedly got into a heated argument while they were having a drinking session.
Authorities said the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a bottle before repeatedly stabbing him. The victim sustained 21 stab wounds to the chest, back, and arms, which caused his immediate death.

The victim's family expressed grief over the tragic incident. One of his relatives shared an emotional statement during the interview.
"Hindi na po talaga siya ni-remind dahil hindi na po kinaya yung 21 saksak. Parang ginawa talaga siya hindi na makatao. Ewan ko demonyo na siguro talaga. Si Lord na lang po ang bahala sa kanya."
The following day, police tracked down the suspect in Santa Cruz, Manila. Authorities said witnesses and the victim's relatives helped identify the suspect's possible location, allowing officers to coordinate with the Manila Police District and carry out the arrest.
A police official explained how the operation unfolded.
"Through the help of witnesses and his relatives, natuntun natin kung saan pupunta yung suspect. So nung sinabi nilang papunta ng Manila, we immediately coordinated to Manila Police District."
During the investigation, authorities also found that the suspect allegedly had a previous robbery case filed in 2017. Police said he had reportedly served nearly four years in prison in connection with that case.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit at Camp Karingal. He is expected to face a murder complaint while investigators continue to obtain his statement regarding the incident.

In other news, a tragic altercation in Bocaue resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman after she was reportedly attacked by her younger half-brother. Law enforcement officials indicated that the conflict was triggered by a disagreement regarding a request for fare money. The victim suffered several fatal injuries during the encounter and was pronounced dead prior to her arrival at the local hospital. Following the incident, the 33-year-old suspect was taken into custody by police and is anticipated to be charged with murder.
Still in other news, a 37-year-old resident of Bokod was apprehended for the alleged murder of his 74-year-old mother within their shared community. The grim discovery occurred when a nearby resident noticed remains partially exposed from a shallow grave in the area. Investigators uncovered forensic evidence and bloodstains within the residence that the suspect occupied with the deceased. Local police are currently conducting a deeper inquiry to determine the specific reasons behind this violent act.
