Investigators said the suspect supposedly introduced himself as various government personalities, including congressmen, senators, department secretaries, and even the First Lady. The allegations prompted coordination among several government agencies, leading to his arrest.

The NBI further revealed that the suspect appeared to have access to a database containing the cellphone numbers of high-ranking government officials. Authorities believe this may have helped make his claims seem credible to some of his targets.

The agency said one of the incidents that exposed the alleged scheme involved the suspect claiming that he had information regarding the whereabouts of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa. However, the official he contacted reportedly became suspicious of his intentions.

“He pretended himself to have an information leading to the arrest of Senator Bato de la Rosa,” an NBI official said during the report.
The same official added, “I already sense na gusto niyang mag-scam eh.”

According to authorities, a small amount of money was sent to the suspect as part of the verification process. After receiving it, he allegedly asked for additional funds, further raising suspicions and prompting law enforcement officers to launch an operation against him.
