Authorities also revealed that the suspect may have been involved in similar incidents since December. Investigators said at least five other victims had reportedly fallen prey to the same modus.

The total estimated value of the items allegedly stolen from other victims reached nearly P1,000.

Aside from theft charges, the woman is also facing a complaint for illegal possession of dangerous dr*gs after police allegedly recovered a sachet of suspected shabu from her.

The suspect admitted to the alleged theft but denied ownership of the illegal dr*gs.

“Hindi po ako nagsa-shabu ma’am. Pangkain nga wala po ako,” she said during an interview featured in the report.

Police are still investigating whether the suspect had accomplices connected to the reported theft incidents in the area.

Authorities also reminded the public, especially students and pedestrians, to keep their bags in front of them while walking or crossing streets to avoid becoming victims of theft.
