A woman was killed in General Trias, Cavite after a violent stabbing incident involving her estranged husband.

The victim and the suspect had already been separated for 12 years, based on initial findings from investigators. Despite this, the man allegedly went to her residence while under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police report, the suspect entered the house and proceeded to a room where the victim was with her live-in partner. The woman reportedly tried to avoid him by going inside the room.

However, authorities said the man followed her and attacked her using a pair of scissors, which he allegedly used in his work as a barber. The victim sustained fatal injuries.

After the incident, the suspect fled the scene. Police later tracked him down and arrested him at his sibling’s house in Manila.

Investigators are now looking into jealousy as a possible motive. They also consider the case a crime of passion, given the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The suspect is set to face a parricide charge in connection with the killing.
