A police officer accused of murdering 43-year-old single mother Kristine Joy Dignadice has turned himself in and admitted to the crime, after earlier visiting her family and pretending to be her partner, Bombo Radyo reported.

The suspect was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Enrique Gonzalodo, a mobile patroller assigned to Bacolod Police Station 5.

Gonzalodo surrendered and confessed to killing Dignadice, stating that he dumped her body in Central Ma-ao, Barangay Don Jorge Araneta in Bago City. He also pointed investigators to the exact location.

The case first unfolded on October 29, when authorities found an abandoned vehicle stained with blood in Sitio So-ol, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran.

The car was later identified as belonging to Dignadice, a resident of Victorias City.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Dignadice’s nephew, identified as Alyas Jay, recalled that on the morning of October 30 around 8 a.m., Gonzalodo arrived at their home claiming he was Dignadice’s boyfriend, he shared.

They let him inside, learning afterward he was a police officer.

According to the suspect’s account, Dignadice went to see him in Barangay Granada at around 5 a.m. on October 29 to accompany him to meet a buyer for her car.

He claimed he refused because he had just come off duty, saying it was the last time they saw each other.

The family remains devastated, especially knowing Dignadice leaves behind a 10-year-old child.
