The bus was reportedly en route to Antipolo to pick up passengers for a special trip.
The impact of the crash caused a diesel leak and scattered damaged barriers across the road, making the highway slippery and hazardous.
This resulted in slower traffic flow in the affected area.
The MMDA advised motorists, especially those on motorcycles and bicycles, to exercise extreme caution as the road remained slick due to the spill. “Mag-dobleng ingat dahil madulas ang kalsada,” the agency warned.
Authorities promptly towed the bus and began cleanup operations to remove the diesel.
A crane was also used to reposition the displaced concrete barriers.
An investigation is currently underway. Authorities said the bus driver may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.
