A man was found dead inside a pickup truck parked along the side of the road in Mandaue City, Cebu, authorities confirmed.

According to a report by Nikko Sereno on GMA Regional TV News on Tuesday, a traffic enforcer discovered the parked vehicle along F. Zuellig Avenue in the North Reclamation Area of Mandaue on April 27, 2025.
Upon noticing that the truck had been idle for some time, the enforcer decided to check the vehicle and found the victim inside, unresponsive. He immediately alerted the police.

When authorities arrived at the scene and examined the man, they discovered he had sustained gunshot wounds to the back of the head and body, indicating foul play.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Mercy Villaro, information officer of the Mandaue City Police Office, stated that robbery might have been the motive behind the crime, as the victim’s wallet and cellphone were missing.
“Posibleng pagnanakaw ang motibo sa krimen dahil nawawala ang wallet at cellphone ng biktima,” she said.
Authorities have already identified a person of interest in connection with the case, but they are withholding further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
This incident has raised concerns about public safety in the area, prompting calls for tighter security and surveillance, especially in less-patrolled zones.
Police continue to urge anyone with relevant information to come forward to help resolve the case.
