A disturbing incident happened in Sitio Huyong-huyong, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, on April 10, when a man allegedly attacked his friend with a sharp weapon over rumors involving his wife.

The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Dino, an e-bike driver, reportedly entered the residence of his friend, 57-year-old Isaias, at around 2 p.m. and hacked him on the head while the victim was lying down.
The incident was reported by Brigada News Philippines.
Based on police investigation and Dino’s own testimony during an interview with Brigada News FM Cebu, the attack stemmed from a personal grudge.

Dino claimed he was enraged after learning that Isaias had been spreading malicious rumors about his wife, accusing her of having illicit relationships with other men.
Feeling humiliated and betrayed by someone he considered a friend, Dino decided to confront the issue violently.
Isaias was rushed to the hospital and is currently under medical care. T
he extent of his injuries has not been publicly disclosed, but authorities confirmed that charges of frustrated h0micide will be filed against Dino, who is now under police custody.

The incident occurred when the group of women briefly stopped their jog to take photographs, leading to the collision with the vehicle. The pickup truck driver, Fernando Oquina, stated that he did not see the women on the road prior to the collision. The family of the victim is determined to file a case.
Meanwhile in other news, a barangay chairman in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan died after he was shot but a still unknown gunman. According to the report of Balitanghali of GMA Integrated News, the victim was driving a tricycle. A man at the roadside then signaled for him to stop, and when he did, he was shot by the perpetrator. The gunman immediately fled the scene, but authorities already have a person of interest.
