The incident, captured by CCTV footage, led to the arrest of a suspect who is believed to be part of a group that frequently targets drunk individuals.
According to a report by Bea Pinlac on Unang Balita this past Friday, the victim was seen sitting outside the KTV bar around 2 a.m. on Thursday in Barangay Doña Imelda, engaged in conversation with three other men.

Subsequently, the victim stood up, placed his cellphone in his pocket, and prepared to leave on a motorcycle.
The man in the long-sleeved shirt followed, feigning an attempt to board the motorcycle, and then swiftly snatched the cellphone from the victim's pocket.
“Maraming grupo ‘yan, hindi lang 'yung nasa CCTV. Marami 'yan sila, iba-ibang edad. Ang madalas diyan, ang ginagawa kasi nila diyan, kunwari manlilimos, tapos ‘pag nakatiyempo sila, nanakawin nila kung anong pwedeng nakawin,” stated a staff member of the KTV bar.
The victim reported the theft to the barangay officials.
“Nagpunta nga rito, medyo lango-lango talaga sa alak. 'Yung nagreklamo, nagwawala siya dahil hinahanap niya 'yung cellphone niya dahil inagaw. At 'yung mga ganiyan kasi mga usapin, 'pag alam nila na lasing na 'yung mga ganiyang tao, 'yan na po 'yung pagkakataon nila na ninanakawan,” said Barangay Doña Imelda Kagawad Jose Mari Caduco.
The barangay officials sought assistance from the police, and the suspect was apprehended hours later in a neighboring barangay.
According to barangay officials, the suspect is part of a group of thieves that frequently targets individuals along Araneta Avenue, particularly near KTV bars.
“Lagi, gabi-gabi, minsan minor de edad 'yung pumupunta rito. Nape-perwisyo rin kami kasi 'yung mga customer din namin hindi na bumabalik kasi 'yung iba nadadala, hindi na pumapasok,” said a staff member.
