A seemingly ordinary traffic accident in Parañaque City turned into a crime scene on Tuesday morning.

A sports utility vehicle (SUV) that crashed into a post was not the result of a simple mishap, but rather the aftermath of a shooting incident that claimed the life of the driver.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. along Dr. A Santos Avenue in Parañaque City, as reported by GTV’s “Balitanghali.”

The SUV collided with a concrete post, and the male driver was found slumped inside the vehicle, already deceased.

Authorities recovered two empty bullet casings at the scene, indicating that the driver was a victim of gunfire.

A report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB stated that police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including whether the assailant was on a motorcycle.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to determine if the incident was captured on camera, which could provide crucial leads in the investigation.

Adding to the complexity of the case, a separate report by Jun Veneracion on GMA News “24 Oras” identified the deceased victim as a 71-year-old businessman.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin and to ensure the integrity of the investigation.

According to a witness, four to five gunshots were heard in rapid succession prior to the SUV crashing into the post.

The witness also reported seeing two suspects on a motorcycle, which aligns with the initial police information.

Police Colonel Randulf Tuano, acting chief of the PNP-PIO, confirmed that the victim was involved in the business of leasing properties.

He also stated that investigators are pursuing several leads and motives in connection with the crime.

According to GMA Regional TV's report, initial investigations suggest the amputated limb came from a hospital, raising concerns about improper disposal of medical waste. Authorities determined that a miscommunication occurred between the hospital and the garbage collector, who mistakenly included pathological waste in a landfill meant for general waste. The severed leg was sent for examination due to potential health risks, and the Talisay City Police returned it to the hospital for proper disposal while continuing their investigation.

Still in other news, a man who allegedly tried to abduct two schoolchildren outside of a school in Caloocan City was mobbed by bystanders. The suspect was later turned over to the police authorities. A Barangay 35 security officer witnessed the entire incident and narrated what he saw in an interview with GMA News. According to the suspect, he just missed his own children, which was why he tried to abduct the two schoolchildren.
