A couple from La Castellana, Negros Occidental, died after they were stabbed and hacked by still unidentified perpetrators.

They were accused of stealing kamote or sweet potato, and a placard was even left on their dead bodies saying that they were allegedly thieves.

Their 18-year-old child was able to survive the incident after he pretended that he was already dead.

He was also hacked on his head.

In another viral news story, a woman from Carcar, Cebu, who died because of eclampsia a week after giving birth to her child, was allegedly taken advantage of after getting buried in the cemetery. According to a report by GMA News, a gravedigger reportedly noticed the coffin lying outside of its grave a day after getting buried. When they checked the woman inside, she was no longer wearing undergarments, and her upper dress was lifted up.
