In a statement sent to The Philippine STAR and Pilipino Star Ngayon on Thursday, Lakam’s lawyer, Atty. Dominic Solis, said his client remains hopeful that the dispute can still be settled within their family.
“Our client is saddened by her sister’s decision to pursue the case but remains hopeful that the matter can still be resolved amicably within the family. She will address the charges through the proper legal process,” the statement read.
The response came after developments in the qualified theft complaint filed by Kim involving House of Little Bunny Philippines Inc., a business that the sisters co-founded.

According to The Philippine STAR, the case involves 124 counts of qualified theft connected to approximately P44.4 million in company funds.
Kim reportedly filed the complaint after financial discrepancies were discovered in the company’s accounts. An audit allegedly showed withdrawals and transfers that the actress claimed were made without proper authorization.
The Quezon City Office of the City Prosecutor later issued a resolution dated September 1 regarding the complaint.
Based on the report, prosecutors found sufficient basis to pursue 124 counts connected to separate transactions involving the company’s funds.
Lakam, however, has denied the allegations against her.
In her response during the proceedings, she maintained that she had access to the accounts as a co-owner and incorporator of the company. She also disputed the claim that the transactions were unauthorized.
Kim, meanwhile, previously explained that taking legal action was necessary to protect the company and its assets.
The issue has drawn attention because of the close relationship the sisters had shared before their business dispute became public.
