President Bongbong Marcos, in a statement today, confirmed he sent communication to some members of the House of Representatives and asked them not to pursue any impeachment attempts against Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a report by Philippine Star, it stated that the president apparently issued the statement after rumors about him texting some members of the House of Representatives about holding off any plans of impeaching VP Sara leaked.
In his statement, the president confirmed he did communicate with some members of the House of Representatives, though added that it was a private conversation and that there’s no use in keeping it a secret since it already leaked.
“Well, it was actually a private communication but na-leak na, yes, because that's really my opinion. This is not important. This does not make any difference to even one single Filipino life. So, why waste time on this?” the president said.

The president also said that any impeachment proceedings will just be a waste of time for both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
“What will happen if somebody files an impeachment? It will tie down the House, it will tie down the Senate. It will just take up all our time and for what? For nothing, for nothing. None of this will help improve a single Filipino life. As far as I'm concerned, it's a storm in a teacup,” President Marcos said in his statement.
Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr. is the current President of the Republic of the Philippines. He assumed office in office on June 30, 2022. He is the son of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos.
Meanwhile, veteran showbiz columnist Lolit Solis, in a recent social media post, compared President Bongbong Marcos and former President Rodrigo Duterte. In the beginning of her post, Manay Lolit clarified that she’s very apolitical and would follow whoever was elected leader, adding that she respects the will of the majority. She then went on to express her opinion about what is happening between the Marcos and Duterte camps. At the end of her post, she saluted one whom she says is the “epitome of a real gentleman”
It can be recalled that President Bongbong Marcos recently broke his silence about the alleged threat to his person and First Lady Liza Marcos made by Vice President Sara Duterte last Saturday, November 23. In his statement, he slammed the alleged threat and called it a criminal act that shouldn’t be given a free pass. He also encouraged everyone to follow the rule of law and to answer truthfully the queries of legislators in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The president also called on those concerned to prioritize things that can help the country improve and to set aside political dramas.
