Eleven members of a family died after the pickup truck, that they were riding, was hit by a bus, as they were making their way home from the wake of another relative.

According to the report of "24 Oras," the incident happened in Abulug, Cagayan.

There were 14 passengers in all on the pickup truck, including the driver.

Eleven of them died, including an 11-month-old baby and a one-year-old.

The driver of the pickup truck, and his two children, survived but sustained injuries.

The driver of the bus also sustained injuries, including the conductor and some of its passengers.

"Itong pickup, biglang pumasok dito sa main highway at tamang-tama naman na nadyan na 'yung bus kaya nasalpok niya... Sa tingin natin parehas may pagkakamali," said PMaj. Antonio Palattao, Chief of Abulug Police Station.
