Atty. John Albert "Jal" Laylo, the Filipino lawyer who was shot in the head in Philadelphia has died. His family confirmed his passing on Monday.

His sister, Althea, took to Facebook and announced the sad news and appealed to the public to keep their family in their prayers.

She noted that the passing of her brother was tragic, and also asked everyone to remember that her brother was a brilliant man.

"his demise is tragic, there is no debate on that. there is nothing that could ever justify how cruel this situation is, but as we think about him, please remember that my brother is as a brilliant man. he is nothing short of exceptional."

She also revealed that his brother will always do anything within his power to help.

His organs will be donated to those who need them.

he will do anything in his power to help. so as one final mission, he will be donating his organs to those who need it. my brother may no longer be with us, but i shall find peace in the thought that at least somewhere in the world, a piece of him is alive and beating.

Crimes are being committed in the Philippines and abroad. The case of Atty. Laylo is one of those instances when Filipinos become victims in a foreign country.

In a previous report by KAMI, a humble lawyer who is dropped off at her office by her father would often take a tricycle on her way home. She took to Facebook and recounted how she was told to buy a car because she was riding a tricycle. People would often tell her that a tricycle does not befit her and in response when would often just smile. For the humble attorney, she said that being a lawyer does not mean that she should look rich or have a car to justify her profession.

Meanwhile, the controversial SUV driver Jose Antonio Sanvicente did not show up at the preliminary investigation at the Mandaluyong City Hall of Justice. Christian Joseph Floralde, the security guard victim, came to the said investigation. Facing the press, the lawyer of the security guard, expressed his dismay over the non-appearance of the suspect. However, despite this, he believes that there is still justice.
