- People would often tell her that a tricycle does not befit her and in response whe would often just smile
- For the humble attorney, she said that being a lawyer does not mean that she should look rich or have a car to justify her profession
Atty. Kathrine Jessica Calano just proved that one does not need material possessions to justify his or her profession.
She took to Facebook and recounted how she would always hear people tell her that she must buy a car because she is a lawyer.
For Atty. Calano, being a lawyer does not mean that she also needed to look rich or be rich for that matter.
She even said that her father would drop her off at the office every morning so it is no big deal to ride a tricycle on her way home.
She also said that people are simply so "judgy." They would often make conclusions about a person based on their material possessions, which must not be the case.
"Let me tell you this: you don’t have to prove your professional capacity with the properties you own. I would understand if I am told to consider buying a car for convenience or for safety and security more so if hearings are outside the City. But if I am told to buy one to look like a lawyer? Bro, pass! I don’t need to stage my life just so I can justify my profession. Bibili ako once kaya na ng savings ko."
Strong statements aired online have a way of becoming viral. Whether the one saying it is a celebrity or not, it never fails to attract the attention of people. Kim Chiu became viral because of her "Bawal Lumabas."
Another example is the Alcasid couple. Being in the limelight, Regine and Ogie would always be "minded" by people. For instance, when ABS-CBN was shut down, Reg expressed strong words over it. She said that after everything, they will come back better and brighter.
