Actor Tom Rodriguez recently shared insights into his personal struggles following his separation from ex-wife Carla Abellana during an appearance on GMA's "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda."

Reflecting on his darkest moments, Tom revealed, "I don't know if I'm allowed to say, but there were times when it was really dark. I thought I was gonna do something to myself that's irreversible."

He then recounted a pivotal moment when thoughts of his nephews and his younger self helped him find strength. "What will my nephews think if they go through hardships? If Tito Thomas was able to do this, I can do it too."

Acknowledging his journey from adversity, Tom expressed gratitude for the support and resilience that guided him through challenging times. "Whatever happened in my life, I was also complacent in it, and I've taken accountability and responsibility for that," he shared, emphasizing that everyone faces their own battles.

Despite the hardships, Tom emphasized the importance of self-integrity, trust, and love in overcoming adversity. "You can go through the hardest [times] as long as you find that integrity within yourself again, that trust, that love for yourself again and those who matter the most to you," he concluded.

Carla Abellana is an actress and endorser who works for GMA. She used to be married to fellow Kapuso star Tom Rodriguez. Before entering showbiz, she graduated with honors from De La Salle University with a degree in psychology.
