Joey De Leon, nag-viral dahil sa post ukol sa mga “Kapalmuks”

Joey De Leon took to social media last Saturday to promote the 44th anniversary of his show “Eat Bulaga.”

The comedian promoted the anniversary by calling July 29 as the “National Dabarkads Day.”

Furthermore, Joey joked that a new network monicker or nickname has been added to the list comprising Kapatid, Kapamilya, and Kapuso. According to Joey, the new network monicker added is “Kapalmuks.”

In the comments section, netizens speculated that Joey was referring to TAPE Inc’s EB, which also celebrated the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.

Isko Moreno and Paolo Contis inked a “long-term” contract with TAPE’s "Eat Bulaga." The contract signing took place on July 8 at APT Studios. TAPE Inc. and Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s executives were present at the contract signing event. Sparkle and Kapuso reporter Nelson Canlas took to its social media pages and shared photos from the event.
