Speech ni Paolo Contis sa pagdiwang ng "Eat Bulaga" ng 44th anniversary, viral: "Mahalaga po ang araw na 'to"

- When the song ended, Paolo and Yorme immediately danced to a faster version of the song and the rest of the cast joined in

- Paolo and Yorme then gave a heartfelt message to their audience

"Eat Bulaga," aired on GMA, celebrated its 44th anniversary on July 29.

It was Paolo Contis and Yorme Isko Moreno who gave the initial remarks with regards the celebration of the show's 44th anniversary.

He pointed out that July 29 is a special day, since it was on the same day 44 years ago that the show started to give happiness to people.

"July 29, mahalaga po ang araw na 'to sa Eat Bulaga. 44 years ago, sinimulan po ng Eat Bulaga ang pagbibigay ng saya. Lumipas man po ang panahon, sa kahit anuman pong pagkakataon, maiba man po ang mga artistang humaharap sa inyo araw-araw, ang hindi po magbabago ay ang hangarin ng Eat Bulaga na magbigay ng saya... at magbahagi ng pag-asa. Tulong at saya, yan po ang aming bagong tugon, sa panahong ito."

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.

Isko Moreno and Paolo Contis have just inked a “long-term” contract with TAPE’s ‘Eat Bulaga.’ The contract signing took place on July 8 at APT Studios. TAPE Inc. and Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s executives were present at the contract signing event - Sparkle and Kapuso reporter Nelson Canlas took to its social media pages and shared photos from the event.

Isko, during his "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" guesting, shared with Boy the words of wisdom he gave to the “Eat Bulaga” team before they aired last July 1. The former Manila City mayor told them to just enjoy the afternoon and be themselves. He also admitted that they felt so much pressure on that day when TVJ’s “E.A.T.” was launched and “It’s Showtime” started airing on GTV.
