Isko Moreno had an insightful interview with Boy Abunda on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

Tito Boy asked how July 1 went for the team of TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga.”

The former Manila City then shared with the Asia’s King of Talk the words of wisdom he gave to the team before they aired last Saturday.

“A few minutes before the airing, because it’s a live show, Paolo and I and the team nasa isang room kami. I told them, ‘Guys, I’ve seen so many failures in life, I’ve seen success, I’ve seen challenges. But one good thing about today, we’re gonna be part of history. Enjoy it, you were asked to be part of the show because you have a certain talent in specific field, excel from it. Let's enjoy this afternoon because at the end of the day, tao ang mananalo dito.'”

Isko likewise compared the ongoing noontime shows in the country to a buffet.

“If I may repeat it again, ngayon ang noontime shows, buffet na. Marami nang choices ang ating mga kababayan, ang ating mga Kapuso na noontime shows. So sabi ko, 'Let's just be ourselves. Nothing to prove. Just be the best that you can be on that particular day.”

Furthermore, Isko admitted that they felt so much pressure on that day.

“You’re right, Tito Boy, there’s so much pressure. And you know, darating ang July 1, there will be July 2, there will be July 3 and so on and so forth.”

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.

Isko Moreno, in a social media post of a snippet from his interview with MaritesUniversity, revealed he has no plans of replacing TVJ. He also expressed his belief that the comic trio would never be replaced in the hearts of every Filipino. The former Manila City Mayor also admitted that it would be very difficult to match the legacy of TVJ that truly made an impact in the lives of Filipinos for 44 years.
