“Yung [sa] insecure? Hindi e, kasi, hindi ako naging insecure sa looks ko, basically. Pero nalungkot ako nung time na lumaki ako nang sobra. Siyempre, 'di ba, isipin mo para kang Winnie the Pooh kahit ano suot mo, hanging."
Eric also explained that his weight gain was largely connected to his eating habits and lack of physical activity. He acknowledged that stress sometimes led him to eat more, while his enjoyment of food also contributed to the situation.
“Siyempre, hindi ka nag-e-exercise, kain ka nang kain. 'Pag nag-iisip ka stress, kain ka nang kain. Aminin naman natin ang sarap kumain talaga."
He eventually noticed how much his body had changed when shopping for clothes became increasingly challenging.
“So, na-realize ko na nga 'pag namimili ako ng damit, walang ng kasya, wala na akong size.”
The actor recalled having to purchase XXXL clothing, although the oversized garments did not always look flattering on him.
“Yung XXXL ang ganda nga, pero mukha kang ang laki-laki ng damit mo.”
Beyond changing his eating habits and physical condition, Eric also discussed his experience with peptides as part of his health journey. However, he emphasized that he did not simply take them without professional guidance and made sure to consult a medical expert.
According to Medical News Today, peptides may support weight management by helping regulate blood sugar levels, metabolism, and appetite. However, these medications can have side effects and require a prescription.
For Eric, the primary objective was never simply to become thinner. Instead, he wanted to improve his overall health, particularly the concerning results reflected in his laboratory tests.
“I need to talk to a doctor tapos ang taas nga nung mga results ko. 'Tapos sabi, 'Sige ang goal natin dito is pababain natin lahat 'yan'”
He later noticed improvements in his weight and laboratory results after undergoing the treatment.
“Tapos after doing the peptides bumabawas yung weight ko, nag-clear 'yung mga matataas sa akin sa lab test. Nung nag-clear dun ko nasabi maganda pala 'to.”
Through his experience, Eric hopes to highlight the importance of taking care of one's health and seeking proper medical guidance when making significant lifestyle changes.
