The actor discussed the incident during the program's “Chika o Add to Cart” segment, where guests must decide whether to answer a question or decline it in exchange for an “Add to Cart” response. Allen chose to answer when asked whether he had experienced bullying from celebrity boys who grew up in Manila and spoke English.
Allen acknowledged the experience while expressing pride in his Bicol roots. He explained that products and trends popular in Manila often reached his hometown much later, leaving him with belongings that appeared outdated when he moved to the city.

He also recalled overhearing people making comments about his shoes, which they described as fake. Despite the hurtful remark, Allen said he did not allow the experience to undermine his confidence or make him determined to acquire expensive possessions just to fit in.
The discussion then turned to how people should respond to bullying. Chika Authority Jeff Fernando asked fellow guests Baninay Bautista and Donita Nose, along with Allen, to share their approaches to dealing with hurtful remarks.
Baninay admitted that although she sometimes feels tempted to confront bullies, she tries to remain calm and avoid giving them the reaction they want.
Donita, meanwhile, shared that she has become more willing to stand up for herself when people cross the line, particularly when she believes she has done nothing wrong.
For Allen, the better response is to avoid letting negative behavior take away from the good things in life. He credited his father for teaching him that reacting to a bully can ultimately leave the person being targeted more upset.
Kumbaga, mas iniisip ko 'yung mas masasayang bagay sa buhay ko like ['yung] laging sinasabi nila Tatay na kapag pinatulan mo 'yung bully, at the end of the day, mas talo ka kasi napikon ka,” Allen said.
Through his story, Allen highlighted how he chooses to handle hurtful experiences without allowing other people's judgments to dictate his confidence or priorities.
