Lyca discussed the issue during her appearance on the October 16 episode of Chika Cart, hosted by Baninay Bautista, Donita Nose, and Jeff Fernando. Their conversation touched on the controversy surrounding podcast hosts who allegedly made jokes about Josh Aquino, the son of Kris Aquino, also known as the Queen of All Media.
The hosts then asked Lyca how she deals with negative comments and personal attacks from netizens, particularly those that cross the line.
The singer explained that she has not made a habit of reading comments on social media since she entered the entertainment industry. She also recalled that she did not have a phone until she was 13 years old.

“Ako, since noong nag-The Voice po kasi ako, hindi po ako nagbabasa ng mga comments. No phone po ako hanggang 13 years old,” ani Lyca.
Rather than dwell on the negative things people say about her, Lyca said she simply lets them pass. She attributed this mindset to the lessons her mother taught her while growing up.
For Lyca, knowing her own worth helps her avoid being consumed by other people's opinions. She emphasized that she does not usually take offense at the criticism directed toward her.

However, she drew a clear distinction between attacks against herself and remarks involving her loved ones.
Lyca's comments come after she previously faced criticism in 2022 for following President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte on social media and performing at their campaign rally.
During her October 6 appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the singer clarified that her actions were not politically motivated. She explained that she was free to follow anyone on social media and that doing so should not automatically be taken personally.
Lyca also opened up about the difficult circumstances her family faced at the time. Her father had suffered a stroke, and she accepted available work to help cover his medical expenses.
Her statement reflected the importance of her family in her decisions and her determination to continue pursuing her dreams despite public criticism.
