Actress AZ Martinez shared her blessings with elderly residents at a nursing home in Marikina as she embraced the spirit of giving back.

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” on Thursday, the Sparkle star said helping others has become one of the ways she gives back for the blessings she has received. She also shared that charity has been part of her family’s practice, particularly during their time in Cebu.

“I’m very active when it comes to charity. Honestly, I’d prefer it if it was more low-key. It’s something that my family and I used to do all the time before, especially in Cebu,” AZ said in a mix of Filipino and English.

For AZ, sharing what she has received is more than simply an act of generosity. She believes that the opportunities and blessings coming her way have a deeper purpose.

“I believe that all of these blessings have a purpose, and there’s a reason why they are being given to us,” she added.

Her visit also gave her an unexpected but memorable encounter with one of the residents. AZ met a senior citizen who recognized her through “Pinoy Big Brother,” where the actress previously became known as one of the housemates.

“She said that she watches [PBB], so it’s nice to hear that,” AZ shared.

The charitable visit comes at a time when AZ is also experiencing several milestones in her career. She is part of “Love Siargao,” a Viu Philippines original series that is set to air on GMA beginning Monday.

Another major opportunity awaits her in “The Way Back to You,” where she will take on a lead role alongside her former “PBB” housemates Ralph De Leon and Michael Sager.

AZ said the cast has developed a fun dynamic while working together, with the group frequently joking around and sharing meals on set.

JM said he turned down the invitation and later told Fyang about what had happened. Fyang added that she did not feel threatened by the situation because she trusted JM to decline the invitation.
