“But we are lucky that we can afford the healthcare that kept her alive and helping her improve to the point that she’s on her way back to being the bubbly and energetic Kris Aquino that we all missed,” Bimby said.
He emphasized that access to medical care should not depend on a person’s financial situation.
“But health should not be a privilege, nor should it be a struggle.”
“It should be a given,” he added.

“The 2 of us have often discussed that healthcare should be the government’s responsibility for all tax paying citizens,” Kris said.

“When you told me that you wanted to go into public service i already started to nag you that healthy citizens will be hardworking tax paying citizens.”
Kris said she also encouraged him to consider how healthcare connects with the country’s workforce and the education of young Filipinos.
“And children learn so much from K to grade 6.”
“I told you that my dream for all public schools was to have a Science Technology Engineering and Math classroom equipped with 1 computer per child and strong internet because by investing in that, we are giving the youth the tools they need to have jobs anywhere in the world but I pray that there will be enough work in our country that going abroad won’t be necessary,” she said.
For Bimby, choosing healthcare as the subject of his first endorsement was rooted in his family’s experiences and his understanding of the value of medical care.
