John Arcilla once again shared his strong views on Filipinos and government officials as flooding continued to affect several areas in the country amid persistent rains brought by the Habagat.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, August 30, the award-winning actor shared a photo showing several people wading through floodwaters.
Arcilla used the post to criticize what he described as the failure of many public officials to understand their responsibility toward the people they serve.
“Hanggang ngayon hindi pa alam ng mas MARAMING OPISYAL ng BAYAN ang totoong RESPONSIBILIDAD nila sa MAMAMAYAN,” Arcilla wrote.

He went on to express his frustration over what he believes is a culture in which holding public office is viewed as a privilege rather than a responsibility.
“Ang KAMALAYAN NILA AT NATING LAHAT sa pagiging opisyal ay PRIBILEHIYO at ENTITLEMENT, ang mamamayan naman ay mga ALIPIN.”
Arcilla also referenced the teachings of Jesus Christ while calling for a change in what he described as a long-standing system.
“PANAHON PA NI KRISTO WINAWASAK NA NIYA ANG KALAKARANG ITO.”
The actor then directly addressed his fellow Filipinos and questioned their continued admiration for political figures.
“Ano na kababayan?”
“Idol pa more?”
Arcilla has previously been vocal about his opinions on social and political issues, particularly those involving government accountability and the choices made by voters.
His latest remarks came shortly after he also aired his sentiments toward voters whom he criticized for repeatedly supporting allegedly corrupt officials in government.
On August 17, Arcilla shared a video of a commuter riding a bus while flooding affected parts of Metro Manila, also due to the Habagat.
The actor used that incident to once again raise concerns about the consequences of political choices and the public’s continued support for certain leaders.
With his latest post, Arcilla once again delivered a blunt message not only to public officials but also to ordinary Filipinos, stressing the importance of recognizing the true responsibility of those placed in positions of power.
