During her appearance on Karmina Constantino’s online show KC After Hours, Carmina opened up about her initial reaction when her twin children, Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, expressed their desire to join showbiz.

Carmina revealed that when the twins were younger, they only wanted to do commercial modeling.

"At first talaga, ayoko. Alam naman nila yan. Alam nila yan, ever since, ayoko talaga. Kung pwede," Carmina bared. "Kasi before, when they were younger, pag tinatanong mo na, 'Do you want to be an artista when you grow up?' 'No, we just want to do commercials.' So parang okay... So medyo panatag pa yung loob ko na commercials lang," she recalled to Karmina.

Carmina clarified that her initial refusal didn't stem from a negative view of show business, but rather from a mother's natural urge to shield her kids from harsh public commentary, especially with social media around.

"Hindi ko sinasabing hindi maganda ang showbiz industry," Carmina shared. "If it's just me, I can handle it, kaya ko, but pagdating sa mga anak, 'Kaya niyo ba?' Kasi ako na lang, wag na yun mga anak ko, wag na yung pamilya ko," she confessed honestly to the journalist.

However, growing up around tapings and photoshoots made the camera lights and studio sets feel like second nature to Mavy and Cassy, especially seeing as both their parents were part of showbiz too.

"Kaso siguro, kakagawa na ng commercials, na-expose sila. Growing up, nakita nila yung trabaho namin ni Zoren, they would visit the sets so parang it's very normal for them seeing the cameras, the ilaw, the makeup, so yun yung naging norm sa kanila," she explained. "Nung nag-high school na nga, nagsabi na, 'Mom, I think I want to try,'" she then recalled.

When Karmina asked if her heart sank upon hearing their decision, Carmina admitted she was panicked.

"Sobra, talagang no. Please wag, ayoko talaga. Guys, parang why? Anong nangyari?" Carmina recalled warmly. Ultimately, it was her husband, Zoren Legaspi, who helped ease her fears and reminded her to support their children's passions. "And then sabi naman ni Zoren, 'Pangarap nila yan eh, pagbigyan natin,'" Carmina concluded.
