The TV host recalled that the incident happened when his assistant was loading his GCash account from his bank. During the transaction, the wrong mobile number was entered, causing the money to be sent to another person.
According to Edu, the number was almost identical to his own, making the mistake easy to miss. The unexpected error immediately caused panic, prompting them to report the incident to GCash while he also tried calling the recipient.

"Hello, this is Edu Manzano. I think my money was accidentally sent to your account."
The man, however, initially replied that he had not received any money.
"Sir, wala po akong natanggap."

He even joked about the situation, writing, "Congratulations, Edu. Donation accomplished."
Just a couple of minutes later, his phone rang again.
The same man called back after checking his account. He explained that he wanted to make sure he was really speaking with Edu before returning the money.
"Sir, chineck ko muna. Gusto ko lang makasiguro na kayo nga talaga si Edu Manzano. Ibabalik ko po ang pera."
The veteran television personality said he could not describe how relieved and grateful he felt after hearing those words. He shared that while recovering the money was already a blessing, what touched him even more was the honesty shown by someone he had never met.

"Hindi lang po ninyo ibinalik ang pera ko. Ibinalik ninyo ang kaunting pananampalataya ko sa kabutihan ng tao."
Edu ended his message by wishing that more people would follow Sherwin's example, saying acts of honesty like his deserve to be recognized and celebrated.

Edu Manzano is an actor, comedian, politician, and veteran television host, known for leading game shows such as The Weakest Link, Pilipinas, Game KNB?, 1 vs. 100, and Asar Talo Lahat Panalo. He has built a reputation for his sharp wit, humor, and candid views on social issues. He was formerly in a relationship with actress Vilma Santos, with whom he shares a son in showbiz, Luis Manzano.
Recently, Manzano shared a humorous remark about his recent visit to a gas station. He revealed that, although he normally doesn’t boast about the places he goes to, he couldn’t help but take pride in refueling his car. The post stemmed from an announcement by the Department of Energy regarding a significant increase in fuel prices starting this week. The viral post drew various reactions from netizens, many of whom agreed that refueling has become a “luxury” in the country.
Earlier, Manzano shared a report on possible plunder and technical malversation charges against Executive Secretary Ralph Recto. Retired Justice Antonio Carpio said the Bureau of the Treasury allegedly redirected ₱167 billion in trust funds for flood control projects while Recto led the Department of Finance. Manzano’s quiet post drew attention due to his history as a corruption critic and his personal connection to Recto through Vilma Santos.
