In an Instagram post published on July 10, Epy introduced the driver, Jhun Diaz, and expressed gratitude for his remarkable act of integrity after what could have been a stressful situation.
"Meet Mr. Jhun Diaz, my Grab driver—and today’s reminder that good people are still everywhere."
According to the actor, he unknowingly left his phone inside the vehicle after arriving at his destination. Since neither of them had a direct way to contact the other, Jhun chose to remain near the area where he had dropped Epy off, hoping the actor would eventually realize that his phone was missing.

It took nearly three hours before Epy noticed that his phone was gone. Fortunately, his daughter Misha and his partner Mapet tried calling the device, allowing Jhun to answer and quickly arrange its return.
"Almost three hours later, I finally noticed it was gone. My daughter Misha and my partner Mapet calls my phone and he answered, and within minutes, Mr. Jhun came back and returned it."
While Epy was grateful to recover his phone, he said what touched him the most was the driver's genuine attitude throughout the encounter. Instead of showing frustration over the inconvenience, Jhun remained cheerful and simply seemed happy to help.
"What I’ll remember most wasn’t just that he gave my phone back—it was the smile on his face. There was no annoyance, no irritation about the inconvenience. Just genuine happiness that he could help."
