Videos shared online captured students singing along, smiling, and cheering during the event, offering a welcome contrast to the grief that has surrounded the school in recent weeks.

The Department of Education's Tacloban City Schools Division supported the initiative and emphasized that emotional recovery remains a priority even as regular face-to-face classes gradually resume.

"While face-to-face classes will resume, the healing process will continue beyond the reopening of the school. The Department of Education remains committed to providing sustained psychosocial support through appropriate school-based interventions and wellness activities that promote the emotional well-being of learners and school personnel," said DepEd Tacloban City Schools Division Superintendent Sherlita A. Palma.

She also acknowledged the assistance extended by the city government in making the special event possible.

"As part of these continuing efforts, the City Government of Tacloban, under the leadership of Hon. Alfred S. Romualdez, has sponsored a special program featuring guest performers who will visit San Jose National High School on July 6," Palma added.

According to Palma, activities centered on music, art, and positive engagement are intended to give students temporary relief while helping them gradually process the emotional effects of the tragedy.
